Profitability, Impact, & Freedom

Happy Saturday!

For 10 weeks, together we’ve dug into health, wealth, and relationships .

The question now becomes:

How do you want to solve for these areas in your own way?

Now we need to understand the values behind what’s most important to you.

So, let’s get curious about your three-legged stool.

TST CREATIVE

The 3-legged-stool metaphor gets used in economics, religion, and politics.

It’s a useful image for articulating proper alignment, stability, and support.

And if we want to achieve our goals in health, wealth, and relationships — we need to figure out our three values that support who we are, what we’re about, and how we’re looking to make an impact in the world.

When we think about thought leadership, finding your tribe and/or landing work/clients/a job we love...

The stool becomes central in EVERYTHING we do.

It influences what we talk about, where we show up and who we look to attract...

Which determines who pays attention to our message AND who carries it forward.

To give you an idea, here are my three stool legs:

  1. Profitability: Defining what that means for me (and it differs for all of us) is critical. Without it, you can create a job (or business) you hate. And, in either case, that is a fast path to self-loathing.

  2. Impact: I have zero interest in doing work that doesn't have a BIG impact. This holds true for those with whom I work (clients and team members at Career Attraction + CreateNext)

  3. Freedom: It's a central component to my life, how I operate and what helps me best support EVERYONE in my life - from family to clients to friends.

Like a stool, these three (3) legs MUST support equally or it fails structurally

Life is fullest when we are most true to ourselves

3-Legged Stool —> Zone of Genius —> Money on the Table

If you’re not familiar with The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks, it’s a great place to uncover your Zone of Genius. AKA the area where you operate at your highest potential and experience your greatest fulfillment and satisfaction.

And this step is where many of my clients figured out where they were leaving money on the table.

The formula looks like this:

3 Legged Stool
Define the values of your 3 legged stool with what drives you

Zone of Genius
Uncover your Zone of Genius AKA where you can have impact

Money on the Table
Figure out where you’re leaving money on the table and

When we pinpoint the intersection of what you love to do, what you're great at, and what gives you a sense of purpose you can then figure out a way to monetize it.

More to get curious about

📌 Jobs in Your 20s, 30s, 40s, & 50s - I loved this YouTube Short where Gay Hendricks defines the jobs of the decades. A great reminder to enjoy each phase as we go along.

📌 Why do we self-sabotage - This article from Melody Wilding perfectly summarizes why we subconsciously defeat ourselves when we get a taste of something great.

And just like that, another week of learning and growing is over.

As always…

I’m in this with you shoulder-to-shoulder,
